Regularly grooming your dog is as important for his or her health as socialisation and a healthy diet. Grooming stimulates blood supply to the skin, removes dead hair and prevents matting. A dogs health can be affected by lack of grooming. They are susceptible to skin irritations, ear infections, fleas & ticks and many other hygiene related problems. By maintaining your pets hair and skin you are ensuring a healthy and happy friend. If they are continually itchy, have poor skin or have tight matt's pulling at their skin their behaviour may become erratic over time. Being brushed and groomed is an important part of socialisation for all dogs. They need to accept being handled, having ears cleaned, having nails clipped. Regular grooming will result in a dog that can easily be examined by a veterinarian. |
